Thanksgiving!

This is going to just be a whole bunch of pics of the meal from  yesterday
but first...

some decorations on the table :)

My mom cutting the apples for apple salad

Actually my friend Annie liked it so much she wanted to post the recipe, but the problem was, there wasn't one. So in a very non-professional way, I tried to tell her what was in it and about how much. If you want the rough recipe you can see it on her blog.
I love the pictures of my mom making it though, so here it is, step by step.

First you cut the apples in little chunks

Typically she uses both red and green apples

Next comes wheat germ, raisins, chocolate chip (mini) and walnuts
(I sort of combined some steps)

Lastly a little mayo (we use the salad dressing mayo)

stir and...

Voila!

Now, on with the rest :)

the potatoes before they were mashed
( I just thought they looked sort of cool )

 ...and after

of course Thanksgiving wouldn't be Thanksgiving without the turkey :)

Finally all together!

And this may sound like I'm trying to be all grown up, but before I end I think it is so important to bring up that we must remember what Thanksgiving is actually all about, giving THANKS !
And so right now, I would just like to thank the Lord for my wonderful family; I simply could not ask for better. He know our every need and always provide at the perfect time. His time.

  1. I love all your pictures, Bekah!
And I had to laugh at the apple salad ones...I can just imagine your mom rolling her eyes and saying "Oh great, my daughter's turning into another Annie." =) My mom gets a little annoyed when I take a million pictures of the food she's making.
Mmmm...your Thanksgiving dinner looks delicious! And beautiful handwriting in the last photo.
    See you tomorrow, Lord willing!
    Much love,
    Annie
P.S. How is Moriah feeling? Better?

I can seriously almost smell the apple salad right through the screen. Yum! Your table looks glorious loaded with all the scrumptious fodder. ;) Glad your Thanksgiving was good. I'm so happy Mo is better now too! Tell her it was great to see her on Sunday. (But of course it was great to see your beautiful face as well.)
    I love you!
